Very soon we’ll be circulating info about how to get involved with our inaugural PATH program in 2025, which will see Music Theatre Projects produce a youth music theatre production of Newsies Jnr.

It will be produced as part of a new program we’ve created for young triple and quadruple threat performers from our region titled PATH – Performing After Training HARD!

In making the production, it will see an artistic partnership between Wild Voices Music Theatre studio, and Ballet Canberra. It will be open, by audition, to young performers 8 to 18, who are already working hard on their craft at a dance school or voice studio in our region. An expression of interest process will happen prior to the auditions. We’ll have an industry rep on the audition panel – in 2025 this will be a casting agent for the music theatre industry.

Rehearsals will take place over a short period of time, and culminate in a one week season at The Street Theatre. Show will be fully doublecast, each cast does 8 shows. We’ve designed it this way so it doesn’t eat into too much of the participants’ school or training schedule, and avoiding peak exam and competition dates. The creative team will all be local professionals with extensive experience and a broad skill base.
