Background

Music Theatre Projects has a slate of exciting works in various stages of development, and needs substantial resources to advance the work on each of these projects. We are fundraising via various channels, but also want to make it easy for people to donate to us towards this work.

We know the projects we are developing have loads of potential. The teams we’ve built to work on them are of the highest quality, and the subjects and themes of the works have particular relevance to contemporary concerns. We’ve done 5 years of hard work with Music Theatre Projects to get to this stage, and now need to step up the work so we can finish writing, or adapting, the works on our slate. As part of the development process we’ll also need to do creative development processes with readings and performances of the work, and engaging a range of specialists to help us realise this work.

Donations to this program – For Our Sisters – will be fed directly into the creative development budgets to support this important work. We have set up a trust account, separate to our operating account, where funds donated towards creative development will be quarantined for this purpose.

Project Status

Here is the link to our ACF campaign:

We have submitted an application to the Australian Charities and Not-For-Profits Commission as the first step in gaining DGR (deductable gift recipient) status. Ot will take some time till we know the outcome. In the meantime, we’ll continue to access the ACF for assistance in our fundraising. All donations to ACF are fully tax deductable.

Dedication

For Our Sisters has come into being as a result of conversations with one of our supporters, Bronwyn Asquith. She will be donating to us in the memory of her much-loved sister.

Music Theatre Projects has a particular interest in the voices of women as creators, and as subjects. Work on Millicent Armstrong’s plays revealed the strong sister relationships in Millicent’s own life, also represented by the characters in her plays.
